We had near perfect weather and a full complement for our April match as we welcomed a number of new shooters and a few former members to the firing line. The competition was stiff but Tony Simonetti persevered over 18 other shooters to win the Garand match with a 280-1X. Dewey Hales took top honors in the modern military category with a score of 288-4X. In the Open Individual Category, Richard Martinez took top honors with his National Match M-1A and a score of 294-14X.
As discussed at the banquet in January, DEGS is sponsoring two shooters to the CMP Eastern Games at Camp Butner. In a drawing of experienced shooters, Jason Cisarano was selected for the experienced shooters and Clay Hallock was selected for first time to Butner shooters. Unfortunately, Clay will not be able to attend and an alternate will be sponsored in his place.
