Club news

The latest info on club events.

We kicked off our 2017 shooting season last week with our Garand clinic, and what a great clinic it was! We started out at the Pig Palace, which served as our classroom. There we covered the basics of the shooting positions, sight alignment, how to operate the Garand and much more. If you have never been to the Palace before, it's located a couple of miles up the road from the range and is a beautiful spot with more than enough room for our class.

Great news: we have secured the Pig Palace as the location for the classroom portion of the clinic. We will open the doors there at 7:30 to begin registration, and the class will kick off at 8am. We will spend about two hours in the classroom before moving over to the range for about two hours of live fire.

The Pig Palace is only about a mile up the road from the range, and is located here.

The clinic will be this Saturday, 18 February, and there is still time to sign up. Contact us if you are interested!

We have now published our 2017 Match and Clinic calendar!

On 18 February, our certified master instructor Clint Randles will hold a Garand clinic that will cover the basics of match shooting, marksmanship, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program. It will include classroom time and also live fire time on the range.

Our first match will be held in March, and we will hold one every month through December. Matches are usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month, except where noted.

Also, DEGS will have a table at the S&D Gun Show in Greenville on the weekend of Feb 11-12 2017. If you are in the area, drop by and say hello!

As you know, our annual awards banquet is right around the corner, 28 January 2017! We would like to invite all members, prospective members, family, and friends to join us for a great meal, some tall tales, and a little club business. At the banquet, we will present our annual awards, renew memberships for 2017, hold our 2017 elections, and of course, raffle off yet another beatiful M1 Garand.

We will hold our annual 2016 awards banquet on January 28, 2017 at the American Legion Post in Greenville. All members, prospective members, family, and friends are invited. More information will follow as we get closer to the event. Contact us if you have any questions.
